Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Jerome Tarantino is an American director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He was born on March 27, 1963 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He fall in love with movies when he was 10 years old. Since this time he's watching a couple of movies every day.
In 1988 he wrote a script to „Natural born killers” and sold it to Oliver Stone, who changed the original script. Tarantiono wasn't happy about that.

His next script was for „True Romance.” For money he earned on it, Tarantino made his next movie: „Reservoir Dogs”, which was critisized for high level of violence.
In 1994 Tarantiono made his the most famous movie: „Pulp Fiction.” It won Golden Palm in Cannes for the best picture, Golden Globe for script and seven nomination to Oscar (got only one: for the best original script.

Later Tarantino made „Four Rooms” and „Jackie Brown” but this movies weren't even in half so famous as „Pulp Fiction”.
He returned in 2003 with two parts of „Kill Bill”. Third, and the las part, Tarantino wants make about 2020.

Two years later Tarantino was a guest director in „Sin City”, movie made by his friend, Robert Rodriguez. For directing one scene, Tarantino earned 1$ (he wanted to make it for free, but US law forbbides it). For directing another one scene in „Sin City 2”, Tratino earned... 2$.
In 2007 Tarantino-Rodriguez duo made two parts of „Grindhouse” („Death Proof” and „Planet Terror”) - their trubute to B class horror movies from 1970's.

Recentlly Tarantion finished his latest movie: „Inglourious Basterds” - a story about Jewish soldiers fighting with nazis during World War 2.

Tarantino, as like as a few other directors, apperas as a supporting actor. He was: Mr Brown (Reservoir Dogs), Jimmie Dimmick (Pulp Fiction), Warren (Grindhouse: Death Proof) and Soldier (Grindhouse: Planet Terror). He also apperaed is Robert Rodriguez's „From Dusk Till Dawn” as Richie Gecko and „Desperado” as a guy telling a joke in the bar:

  1. I haven’t seen most of the films made by Tarantino but of course I’ve seen “Pulp Fiction” couple of times. I especially like the famous dance scene with Uma Thurman and John Travolta (I guess you all know it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoUEMZnibS8 ). I’ve also seen both “Grindhouse” films which he made with Rodriguez. I have to say that they really made that style of B class movies and it looked funny, especially “Planet Terror” ( I remember the scene where girl loses her leg in an action so she uses a machine gun instead…).

  2. -You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
-They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese?
-No, man, they got the metric system, they don't know what the fu** a Quarter Pounder is.
    -What do they call it?
-They call it a Royal with Cheese.

Tarantino rocks! Simply, nothing more to add :)

  3. not much to say...
I don't like the guy, not personally of course, but for what he creates. I don't enjoy his films, because for me they are too weird and not very funny. Though, I liked the soundtrack in "Pulp fiction", but on the other hand, it's not his music, so I can't really say many good things about him.

  4. Quentin Tarantino is one of those directors, that you can just love or hate. His movies awake emotion. In my opinion, his movies are really impressive. I like the atmosphere, that he creates in his movies. The most important for me is that his movies are very recognizable. He has his own style. For instance, movies like “Pulp Fiction” or “Kill Bill” knows everyone. I suppose that the film industry without them will be completely different, and for sure, deprived.

  5. I have no feelings when I am thinking about Tarantino. I've seen Pulp Fiction and admire it, but I was really bored watching KillBill and Sin City (awful movie!). You must like such kind of movie screenplay - full of violence and smart dialogues (not sin city!).

  6. I value Quentin Tarantino's films because they are very individual and characteristic as Aleksandra said. They can't be mislead with enything else. This movies are very modern. I think they will never become stale and unfashionable. They're the classic of world cinema.

  7. I consider Tarantino to be good director. In my opinion his films, maybe are very strange and atypical but nowadays only original films have chance to be unforgettable. What is more if you want to make movie which will be remembered for some years, you will make something shocking, rare, emotional. So, not everybody must love his films, but I’m sure that everybody listened about him;)

  8. I just want to say he's smart because he knows what he's good at and he does exactly that.He is not a very open-minded filmaker but that's ok with me.

  9. I have seen all productions of Quentin Tarantino and I must say that in my opinion he is one of the most important contemporary director. He has worked out his own style. I claim that violence and daub in his movies are excellent comment to modern reality which are full of cruelty. Moreover, Quentin Tarantino is real master of dialogues. He always wants to show some interesting, human interactions. Films like Pulp Fiction or Natural born killers are actually cinematic masterpieces.

  11. A lot of people don't like Tarantino's movies. They say that they are all tat and it is not an art at all. But some people have fun watching for example opera and some have to do something louder or faster like a big wheel. Tarantino's movies are like a big wheel. I like his style and in my opinion he is a good director.

  12. For me Tarantino is very intelligent director and screenwriter. He has his own, unique style. It's full of violent sometimes but thanks to that he join abstraction of some situations with physical of their participants. Of coure it's only my opinion. I think in every one of us is someone who is a little bit mad and sadistic. Everyone have typical stereotypes in head but none of us want to admit that fact.

  13. My favourite QT's movie is Pulp Fiction. I love the dialogues, and those two hitmans. My favourite quote is:
Jules: Does he look like a bitch?
    Brett: What?!
Jules: [shoots Brett in the shoulder, Brett screams] Does he look... like... a bitch?!
    Brett: [in pain] No-o!
Jules: Then why'd you try to fuck him like a bitch, Brett?

  14. Weird presentation... It’s difficult to write something about Quentin Tarantino if I have seen only one or maybe two of his movies. I really like “Kill Bill” because I love strange films with such sense of humour and funny ideas of directors. However, this movie can be shocking for some people because of lot of violence and... blood
